The machine produces a safe level of radiation that passes through your body and records an image on a specialized plate. A technician positions your body to obtain the necessary views.
For some types of special investigations, contrast medium such as iodine or barium are introduced into your body to provide greater detail on the images.
Example : Hysterosalpingography (HSG) is used to visualize the uterine cavity and fallopian tubes which helps in infertility investigation.
General health check ups include low dose Chest X-ray as a routine for heart and lung assessment.
If you are pregnant or suspect that you may be pregnant, inform your doctor / technician and avoid getting an X-ray unless it is mandatory when it can be done with proper protection.
Cadabam’s diagnostics uses a technique called computerised X-ray and uses low dose radiation techniques for the benefit of patient’s health.

Ultrasonography is an imaging modality that uses sound waves to visualize the internal organs and tissues of the body. It is a safe option as it does not use ionizing radiation. This is why it is used to evaluate the fetus during pregnancy.
Colour Doppler is a method of evaluating blood flow within blood vessels in various parts of the body like the abdomen and pelvis, upper and lower limbs, liver, kidneys, and arteriovenous fistula. It can assess narrowing/occlusion in the vessels, atherosclerotic changes, etc. It is also used during pregnancy to evaluate blood flow to the fetus and placenta and is used in the staging of fetal growth restriction.

- The technologist will verify your identity and the exam requested.
- You may have to keep your valuables such as jewels, coins, eyeglasses, or metallic objects outside the X-ray room
- If you are pregnant please tell a doctor or technologist
- You need to wear loose clothes that will help in carrying out the process easier
- In some cases, you may be given a contrast material before X-ray as it will help to increase the quality of the X-ray image
- The X-ray procedure may take a few minutes or may prolong if it involves other procedures Visit a doctor today, and a quick checkup may include a chest x-ray, a computed tomography (CT) scan, or an ultrasound. These common diagnostic tools are an integral part of modern medicine, helping us to detect and diagnose a wide range of health problems and injuries. However, like many medical technologies, the x-ray itself has evolved to become more and more advanced.

Early pregnancy (Transvaginal scan)
Done to accurately detect age, number, location, heartbeat of the fetus, uterine and ovarian abnormalities.
Nuchal translucency scan (NT / First trimester anomaly)
Done to detect risk of mental retardation (Down’s syndrome) , early physical deformities, adequacy of blood flow to uterus. Risk assessment for genetic diseases and Pregnancy induced hypertension will give an opportunity to act early in pregnancy.
Targeted imaging for fetal anomalies scan (Anomaly scan)
Done to diagnosis sonologically detectable physical abnormalities of the fetus within a time frame which allows for further tests like NIPT/Amniocentesis for considering termination within the legal time frame.
Fetal ECHO Cardiography
It is a detailed evaluation of the structures and functioning of the fetal heart. Can detect birth defects like holes in the heart which are the simplest of heart abnormalities.
Fetal Neurosonogram
It is a detailed evaluation of the structures of the fetal brain. Can detect simple and serious abnormalities of the brain which may lead to mental retardation.
3D/4D scans
Mostly used for evaluating fetal face, limbs and spinal deformities. It is best done after 24 weeks.
Growth scan with doppler study
Done to assess the adequacy of weight gain and blood flow to placenta and fetus.
Genetic counselling
Helps patients in understanding the grievous nature of any detected problems/the chance of their baby inheriting any genetic disease running in their family.
Musculoskeletal Ultrasound with Guided Interventions and Pain Management
Fetal Invasive Procedures
Chorion villous sampling:
Done at 3rd month by obtaining a placental sample from the uterus using Ultrasound guidance and needle insertion under local anesthesia which is tested for various genetic abnormalities.
Embryo reduction:
Done at 2nd – 3rd month in multiple pregnancies in order to decrease the number of babies or diseased babies for the well being of the remaining healthy fetuses and mother.
Amniocentesis:
Done at 4th – 5th month by obtaining the amniotic fluid sample which is tested for various genetic abnormalities.
Perianal / Fistula Ultrasound
It is done using 2D and 3D techniques which gives the clinician a clear understanding about the treatment options. The techniques used are latest and cause minimal pain and discomfort to the patient. Post treatment follow up helps in planning further treatment.
